Verb Phrase Analysis: Evolution of Virtual Reality in Indonesia

1. Background

Business English is specialization that designed to teach you to communicate effectively in English in Professionals context. Especially in this globalization era, English is become the most important thing you have to learn. If you can't speak or understand English very well you can't be something. Because everybody in this business use a technology and the platform of technology is built in English.

It will be a never ending story if we talk about technology. No one can stop the improvements that the technology has. As one of the examples, several gadgets such as smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc are a must-have things for people nowadays. It proves that technology cannot be separated from people’s life.

Technology brings advantages for the users themselves. First, they can communicate with others even thought they are separated miles away from each other. Second, technology are starting to get into optical illutions, for the example augmanted, virtual, and mixed reality. So, what makes virtual reality more interesting than augmanted reality? I think virtual reality gives us more simulated realistic experience.

Indonesia is one of the biggest country in the world which has big potential to increase the technology’s growth, it can be seen through interest of people for doing their business related to technnology. Based on CNN at 25th January 2018 about “Langkah Berat Bisnis Virtual Reality in Indonesia”, OmniVR as one of company who maintain virtual reality in Indonesia said, “it is really hard to develop in the beginning but they surely take it what they make it at the end of the day. I think it’s true like in general some people still don’t know what is this technology about but as the time growth people will clearly understand it. But sure it’s really need a time, because it’s not easy as it’s looks.

It is not easy to maintain the virtual reality. You have to invest your money to improve the technology because the tools that are needed are quite expensive. One of the biggest news online portal Dailysocial posted on their website about building an ecosystem if you don’t want lose a second chance to adopt a new technology. In my opinion, we have to know our streghts and weakness when we want to develop the technology into a higher level, be ready for whatever it takes, and engaged more with the partners that can support and encourage us at the same time. The most important thing is that we should have the sense of developing technology.

Virtual reality is not only for personal computer, but it can be in smartphone as well. Like in Metrotvnews.com they posted the article about “bad” VR. For me, it proved we cannot stop the growth of technology, but we can take the technology into a higher level. We will never know what will happen in the future, yet we can make a move starting from now. We can prove to the world that we can make a revolution and improvement that are worth to try.

A verb phrase consists of a main verb alone, or a main verb plus any modal and/or auxiliary verbs. The main verb always comes last in the verb phrase:

Complex Verb Phrase

A complex verb phrase may include one modal verb and one or more auxiliary verbs before the main verb. A modal verb always comes before any auxiliary verbs:

Meaning of Auxiliary verbs in verbs phrases

Auxiliary verbs give different types of meanings to a verb phrase.

Order of verbs in verb phrases

The continuous, perfect and passive meanings of auxiliary verbs may be combined in a verb phrase, and auxiliary verbs may combine with modal verbs.

The order of the different types (and meanings) of verbs in the verb phrase is shown in the table as 1–5, from left to right.

A combination of all the auxiliary meanings plus a modal verb is possible but is very rare:
